PREFACE:
ABOUT US... THE PURPOSE OF THIS GUIDE
The purpose of this guide is to provide enough information for homeowners to develop a working fundamental knowledge of homeowner's insurance, so they are then better able to make informed choices when buying insurance.
Understanding homeowner's insurance policies can be a very complicated and confusing task, even more so for people who come from a different state or an entirely different area of the country. This is particularly true in the State of Florida, which is unique with vast hurricane and high-risk coastal areas. Hopefully after reading this guide, you will feel more comfortable with the terminology used by insurance agents and when you go to buy insurance you will better know what to expect. But, we always recommend that you be an independent shopper and do your own research in addition to reading this guide.
In this guide we have complied what we have found to be the "Top 10 Concerns and Challenges" facing consumers shopping for home insurance in Florida. We narrowed down the Top 10 by years of experience working with our customers and speaking to other insurance agents, realtors and mortgage brokers about the common questions they are faced with. In addition to this valuable feedback, a big part of our research comes from closely monitoring our Google Analytics Report from our website, to determine the most common searches and questions regarding homeowner's insurance. While we know this guide does not cover all aspects of homeowner's insurance, we do hope it will assist in making you comfortable when you are in the process of looking for a homeowner's policy.
